Locating her chamber requires navigating through a grand academy filled with powerful glintstone sorcerers and intricate pathways. Understanding how to unlock the academy gates and traverse its inner corridors ensures a smooth journey toward confronting this formidable boss.
Locating Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia
Rennala resides deep within the grand library of Raya Lucaria Academy, which dominates the center of Liurnia of the Lakes. This massive structure sits atop a prominent island surrounded by flooded ruins and shallow lake waters. Travelers can easily spot the looming towers from almost anywhere in the region as they venture north from Limgrave.
Although the academy is clearly visible, the main gates are sealed shut by powerful magical barriers. Players must obtain a specific key to break through the seal and step foot inside the academy grounds. Reaching the perimeter is as simple as following the western shoreline or riding torrent across the lake floor toward the base of the central island.
Finding the Glintstone Key to Enter
To bypass the blue magical barrier at the South Raya Lucaria Gate, you must acquire the Academy Glintstone Key. This vital quest item is hidden on a small island directly west of the academy structure. The key rests on a corpse sitting behind Glintstone Dragon Smarag, a massive beast guarding the marshy rock formation.
You do not need to slay the dragon to retrieve the key for entering the castle. Sneaking carefully behind the sleeping beast on your mount allows you to grab the key and quickly ride away unharmed. Once secured, returning to the sealed barrier allows you to instantly warp into the academy courtyard.
Navigating Through the Academy Courtyards
After entering Raya Lucaria, ascend the main staircases and elevators to clear the initial interior chambers. You will encounter various sorcerers casting glintstone spells along narrow walkways, requiring steady movement and timing. Progression leads toward the Debate Parlor, where you must defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon to clear the path forward.
Exiting the Debate Parlor brings you to an open courtyard area filled with crumbling stone ramps and floating platforms. From this courtyard, head toward the right side and jump onto the large rotating iron gear mechanism or ascend the massive rolling ball staircase. Navigating past these hazards brings you directly to the Grand Library lift.
Reaching Rennala in the Grand Library
At the top of the central elevator sits the grand entrance to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library. Opening the heavy wooden doors triggers the encounter with Rennala, who sits surrounded by her scholarly juvenile followers.
