Exploring the expansive Kingdom of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild involves discovering numerous hidden shrines that test a player's mastery over game mechanics. The Bosh Kala Shrine is an early-game landmark that serves as a fundamental lesson in aerial movement and wind utilization. Located conveniently near starting trade routes, completing this shrine provides essential progression rewards for travelers venturing beyond the Great Plateau.
Finding the Bosh Kala Shrine Location
To reach the Bosh Kala Shrine, head toward the southeastern section of Central Hyrule near the border of the Dueling Peaks territory. The entrance sits on the western banks of the Hylia River, situated just south of the Proxim Bridge. Adventurers traveling along the main dirt road toward the East Post Ruins will spot the glowing orange stone structure sitting in an open field.
Approaching the shrine rarely requires high-level combat gear, though a few wilderness enemies may patrol the surrounding fields. Players can easily activate the travel gate using the Sheikah Slate to establish a quick teleportation point early in their journey. This convenient access point makes returning to the central river region fast and effortless.
Solving The Wind Guides You Trial
Upon stepping onto the elevator platform inside the shrine, players are introduced to the trial subtitled "The Wind Guides You". The puzzle relies heavily on riding strong air currents generated by large industrial wind fans scattered across the chambers. To cross the initial gap, head up the small staircase on the left side of the entrance room. Jump off the edge and immediately deploy the Paraglider to let the horizontal wind stream carry Link directly to the far platform.
In the second chamber, a similar setup requires precise timing and stamina awareness. Step onto the elevated walkway on the left, ride the main wind column across to the central platform, and catch your breath. From this central island, launch into the final draft aimed toward the monk's dais, making sure to drop down right above the ledge to avoid overshooting the target landing zone.
Unlocking Secret Chests for Bonus Loot
Beyond solving the main path, the Bosh Kala Shrine contains two hidden treasure chests that offer valuable early-game equipment. The first chest rests on a isolated ledge near the first wind chamber. By taking the staircase to the left and launching into the draft, Link can glide right onto the ledge to claim an Amber item.
The second chest requires slightly trickier maneuvering in the final room. While riding the central wind stream toward the monk's altar, veer sharply to the right mid-flight to land on a small wall alcove. Inside this chest lies a Soldier's Claymore, providing a great melee damage boost for fresh adventurers.
Claiming Your Spirit Orb Reward
After collecting all optional treasure, walk up the short steps at the end of the hall to interact with the ancient monk. Inspecting the protective barrier triggers a brief dialogue and grants Link a valuable Spirit Orb. Accumulating these orbs allows players to upgrade their health container or stamina wheel at goddess statues across Hyrule.
